So I get my own good idea’s sometimes. Sometimes.

With the help of others.

My morning started off great.

Other than waking up at 4:30am on a Saturday and not being able to get back to sleep, the rest of my morning was something of delicious means.  And what better way to start a day than with good eats.

I had been wanting to do a SIAB for a very long time.  I went on an extra long walk this morning and was famished by time I got home, I knew I had just bought a ton of frozen fruit, and I had been wanting to switch up my normal greek yogurt bowl for awhile, so this was the perfect opportunity to try it! And boy am I glad I did, because .it.was.amazing.

In the mix:

6oz yogurt

1/2 tbsp chia seed

handful of spinach

1/2 frozen banana

1/2 cup mix of frozen red raspberries and blackberries

3-4 fresh strawberries

1/2 cup almond milk

all put into a blender and out came one of the tastiest bowls of goodness.

This thing was seriously delicious and really hit the spot.  It may be replacing my greek yogurt bowl fruit messes…

Ok, I won’t go as far as saying replacing, but there will be some alternating through out the week between these two.

Of course there was still breakfast #2.  I really hate how I feel like I should be satisfied for more than 1-2 hours, but I keep telling myself, if my body wants the food, give it to it. Must gain, must be healthy, must learn to fight negative thoughts.

But breakfast #2 was nothing short than amazing as well. I’m pretty proud of myself on this one.

Yesterday I made Ashley’s cake batter cashew butter and one of my immediate next thoughts was.

Cake Batter Overnight Oats.

Genius.

So I took the same ingredients from her recipe, stuck them in my oats. And Wah-La.

One of the most delicious things I have put in my mouth.

I think I’ve been saying that a lot lately. But not only was this fun to eat, it’s fun to look at. I mean how cute are sprinkles. I just love them!

 In the mix:

1/3 cup oats

1/2 tbsp pure vanilla

1/4 tsp almond extract

1/2 tbsp maple syrup

sprinkles of course, as many as you want!

topped with chocolate soy pudding, banana and MORE SPRINKLES! I basically had chocolate cake for breakfast.

I scaled down some of the flavorings due to only using 1/3 cup of oats and used maple syrup instead of the sucanat basically because it was easier to get to. But it was still equally delicious. Another oats success if I do say so myself. And I do!

If you can’t sleep do you just get up or try and go back to sleep? I unfortunately always get up. When I’m up, I’m up regardless of the time. And sometimes that’s 4am. BOO! 😀

Does making your food pretty/cute make it more fun to eat for you? I LOVE to make my food pretty, part of being a food blogger I guess, but I swear it makes it taste better too!
