I saw this concept on another blog and thought it was a great idea.

Especially with my current struggles and especially after my rough last week, sometimes I was having a hard time on finding something to be happy about.  But especially in times like these are the times we need to realize our worth.  To get through any recovery process you need the will, determination, and the belief in yourself that you can do this and that you are worth it. You deserve to be healthy. You deserve to be happy. And you deserve to smile. You need to realize that you are strong. And above all things that you are beautiful.  It is so important to love yourself, love your best qualities, and love your flaws.  Because everyone has them.

i mean look at this guy. yogurt smeared all over his banana slices, cinnamon smears on the side of the bowl. unsweetened cocoa lazily sprinkled and clumped everywhere. but did he still taste delicious? yes, because his flaws did not mean he wasn't tasty. and trust me. he was tasty.

Here are the rules.

1. Smile!

2. Write 3 things you like about your looks.

3. Write 3 things you appreciate about your personality.

4. Write about something you find beautiful in other people (looks, personality – whatever)

5. Award as many other people as you like and let them know!

1. Smile!

i decided to use a picture from Christmas because this is a time when I was happy and healthy. granted this was the beginning of the fall as i had already lost some weight, but i was at a healthy weight. this is where i should have stopped.

also a picture of me and my family, because without them, i wouldn't be nearly as successful. their love and support get me through my hard times. our love is unconditional and that is so important in recovery.

2. Three things you like about your looks

Love my eyes. Thank you mom. I always say Matt and I are bound to have a beautiful eyed child. I have hazel and he has grey/blue. Both recessive genes baby. We’re golden! I also like my height. As a kid it was a bit awkward always being the tallest girl in my class, but as I got older I really embraced my tall stature. And can I be weird and say I like my collar bone? It’s always been very defined. Yea, weird quality to like I know.

3. Thee things you appreciate about your personality

I am a very faithful. Very. I would do anything for my friends. Hell, I would do a lot for someone I barely knew. I love to help others and make people happy. Call me a mother hen? I think it’s because I really had a lack of trustworthy friends growing up.  So I make sure that I am there for the people I have in my life now that I truly care about and that I know care about me.  And thank God I found some amazing friends. I would do anything for them and don’t know where I would be without them! I’m also a big dork. I may even say that my personality is an acquired taste, but I definitely have a very quirky personality and just like to have fun. (I love using the work quirky because my fiance’s last name is Quirk. I have to take advantage of using the word now, because I have a feeling when it becomes my last name I won’t find it as funny!) I’m known to bust out randomly into song, and yea I can make anything into a song. And I do. I’m sarcastic, and I probably cuss more than any girl should.

4.  Something you find beautiful in other people

Looks are really only skin deep and you can’t judge a person by their appearance.  It’s all about whats inside. Some of the most “beautiful” people are the ugliest human beings.  I find good morals, a great sense of humor, and generosity to be qualities I find beautiful in others. And I am thankful that I found all three in Matt. I mean look at this guy.

cracked out conan o'brien?
