This may show my age, but when I think of slime, this pops in my head.

Name that show.

Yea. I’m old.

But let’s look at slime in a different perspective shall we?

I am really trying to switch up my meals, especially breakfast because I feel like I got into such a rut. And the fact was as much as I was enjoying breakfast taste-wise, I was coming to realize it wasn’t keeping me satisfied. I feel like I was eating enough quantity wise, but was still feeling unsatisfied after. Which to me means, I just wasn’t giving my body what it needed, just what it wanted.

So as my recent go-to inspiration I headed over to Pinterest. It being What I Ate Wednesday recently didn’t hurt either. Talk about inspiration!

I came across an interesting concoction and it was screaming my name. I just had to do it!

I stumbled across Sprint 2 The Tables quirky idea of a slime-tastic breakfast.

Oh yes. Green Protein Frosting.

But of course I switched it up a bit. I turned it into my own

Green Chia Protein Frosting

1 cup baby spinach

1 scoop protein powder (I used SunWarrior Vanilla)

1-2 tbsp chia seed

4-5 drop NuNaturals Vanilla Stevia (depending on how sweet you want it)

Dash of:

Liquid for blending

Place all ingredients into blender (except chia seed) and blend.

Pour into small bowl and mix in chia seed.

Put in refrigerator for 30 minutes – 1 hour to let the chia do their magic.

Stir and enjoy!

I re-attempted my version of Kasey’s PowerCake, which turned out waaaayyy better this time.

I also topped it with some homemade berry jam.

This green mess was also enjoyed on my beloved new obsession of Kashi waffles.

Oh yes slimy goodness. Topped with homemade blueberry jam.

(Funny side story about this meal. I wanted to take an “in action” shot if you will. Let’s just say, my white iPhone. Was green for awhile. Seriously dropped it right on top of the waffle. This happenes after that.)

I swear it would have been a prettier shot had I totally not phone bombed my breakfast.

I seriously just looked at it and said out loud “really??”. I mean. First slime-tastic breakfast and I drop my phone in it.

Typical Debbie.

Regardless, this sauce is a nice switch up. And I mean, we’re all trying to get our veggies in right?

Does the color of your food affect how you view the taste? You would think looking at this sauce it would taste like veggies, but the spices and vanilla really hide it well. You just get the fun color!
