a marvelous birthday re-cap
Hello all my beautiful people.
♥ ♥ ♥
I hope everyone had a great weekend.
Mine was beyond epic. So what a better time to celebrate with the most beautiful preggo blogger around Katie. We like to be Marvelous in our Mondays. So let’s take a look at what made my weekend so epic.

♥ ♥ ♥
First things first, my birthday was Friday, and as I get older not only are birthday’s just not as big of a deal, but the fact that I’m one year closer to 30 (ah next year) isn’t something I look forward too. But also the older I get, the more I realize it’s not how old you are, but how you feel and how you live. And trust me, I do not feel or live like I am 29. So I’m ok with being a year older.
♥ ♥ ♥
Not only am I ok with aging, but I had an amazing birthday. Celebrating with good friends and the one I love make turning any age no big deal. And that’s exactly what I did this year.
So hang on kids, because a lot of fun was had.

We start with Thursday night. Matt and I had plans to go out of town for my actual birthday, but he also put together a little dinner for me with friends on Thursday night. Having a birthday so close to Christmas kind of makes it hard to have a celebration as a lot of people are still out of town, but we had a nice little group that I had an amazing time with.

Matt surprised me with the location, but shocker, he knew I would love our new favorite sushi restaurant.
Seriously, with me, sushi is a no brainer and always a win.
My wonderful company.

♥ ♥ ♥
A few of the girls from my class had never had sushi before, but came anyways and were champs about trying a bunch of new things.
And trust me there was plenty to try!
♥ ♥ ♥

I don’t think that’s even one-third of what we ordered.
And it was Kelly’s first time ever having sushi, but at a birthday girl’s request, she tried a piece. Love her!

♥ ♥ ♥
As you can see plenty of shenanigans went down.
And the shenanigans continued at our place with a few of the girls.
We stopped at the store to pick up a few more adult beverages, and when my eyes landed on this beauty, I could not pass it up.
♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥
Seriously? Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Banana Beer?? Yes please.
Rogue never lets me down.
Neither does Eddie Izzard. Which is what I made everyone watch. Seriously if you have not seen his stand up Dress To Kill, I highly recommend it. It’s on Netflix instant watch. Go watch it. Now.
♥ ♥ ♥
This is only part one of my amazing birthday, but I think my Tucson weekend deserves a post of it’s own.
Here’s a little food teaser of what happened though.

♥ ♥ ♥
If that doesn’t make you want to come back to read about it, I don’t know what will.
Yes my birthday was that amazing!

Reminder: Don’t forget there is still time to enter my Arctic Zero giveaway.

How do you celebrate your birthday?
Do you care about getting older, or is it about how you feel?

Girl, I am so happy you had such a fabulous birthday!! You deserve it =) I am completely jealous of both the beer (I mean wow.. i’ve never heard of such a flavor) & all that delicious food!! I can’t wait to read more =)
I like your outlook on getting older. I definitely don’t feel (or LOOK–hello, am I twelve?) 28, or at least the conception of 28 that I still have from when I was a wee bit younger.
Man oh man I have not had sushi in SO long. I just want a jar of pickled ginger and some sticky rice right now….although your tendency towards Thai would also satisfy me at the moment. [Yes, it is before 10AM in the morning right now. Yes, I would still eat Thai.]
Happy BIRTHDAY!!!!
[Belatedly.]
i think i could eat thai (and chinese leftovers for that matter) any time of the day! oh and leftover cold pizza!
(yes its 9:00am and now i want cold pizza for breakfast)
