Um ok. Seriously. January is over? We’ve been in 2013 for one whole month already? I just can’t believe it. Honestly. I’m in denial over here, I don’t know about you.

Time never ceases to amaze me with how quickly it goes by.

But one good thing about the end of a month is you guessed it.
Foodie Pen Pal time!

This month I was paired up with the lovely Laurel.
And I was her first foodie pen pal! Yay!
I tried to take it easy on her ;)

But I am happy to report, she did amazing at picking out some goodies for me!

Whenever I am asked what I like, jam and jelly is always one of the first things out of my mouth!
I’m sorry. I’m addicted. And I literally think I squealed with the I saw the Side Hill Farm Cinnamon Pear jam.
Oh my gosh.
Talk about little kid excitement, that was me.
And Whole Foods fruit spread is a favorite of mine as well.
And good honey and maple syrup? Well you can’t go wrong there either.
Sweet tooth heaven.

A couple fun snacks too.
These made it straight into my backpack. Great school snacks if you ask me.
I felt like a kid again with the fruit snacks.

Seriously guys. Zombie Brain Juice.
Only in foodie pen pals could this ever happen.
Matt and I were pretty excited over this.
So excited I tweeted instantly about it.

Yea. I was that excited.
And that popcorn? I love popcorn.
I hate to admit it these both were gone the night I got the package.
So thank you Laurel, everything was delish!

So if Zombie Brain Juice doesn’t convince you to joining Foodie Pen Pals, I don’t know what will.

Here’s the info on the program.
-On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treatsThe spending limit is $15The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.

I was lucky enough to be paired with the Foodie Pen Pal queen herself, miss Lindsay at LeanGreenBean. I was so nervous, but hopefully she liked everything I sent her!!
