great low carb bread company
I hope your weekend has started off well, at least better than mine, as I left work early on Friday from not feeling so great.
Matt hasn’t been feeling so hot either and went to the doctor to find out he has the flu. I find it ironic considering we both just got our flu shots, but I guess those take a few weeks to go into effect and he must have gotten it before or in the time between.
To be on the safe side I went to the doctor as well, thankfully for me I do not have the flu, just a mild sinus infection.
Still, a house with two sick people is not fun, however I feel bad for him as he has it a bit worse than me and feels much more yucky.

So what is one to do with some spare time? Tell you about a great product of course.
You guys know I love sharing wonderful foodie finds and this one is worth sharing.
We all know I am a carb girl. I love my bread, bagels, and crackers. This girl does not fear the carbs. However, sometimes I find it fun to find lower carb, healthy alternatives. As long as they taste good. So when I discovered the company Great Low Carb Bread Company I was a bit intrigued by their products. There are plenty of low carb breads out there, none that have really impressed me, but in looking at Great Low Carb Bread Company’s product list, well I was very interested in trying some of their products. I have never seen a low carb company offer so many different items. And have them taste good on top of it.
They offer a variety of products including breads, bagels, buns, dinner rolls, granola, muffins, brownies and even pizza crust!
And not only do they have a variety of items to choose from, but multiple flavors as well. Before even trying the products I was pretty impressed with the company. You have to order the products online, you can order it straight from their website, but they also are available on multiple other sites, so it’s pretty easy to find and order the products you want.
I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to try a selection of their products.

The first item I tried was the peanut butter muffin.
I will be honest in saying I wasn’t completely 100% blown away by this one, and with it being the first item I tried I was a little discouraged with what the rest of the items would taste like. It wasn’t bad by any means, was actually quite moist, but I guess I just wanted more of a peanut butter taste than I got.

But I stayed open minded and tried another one of the baked goods the next night.
I decided to have the almond bar as my night time sweet treat.
Oh my gosh guys. This thing. I can’t even describe. The almond flavor was so much stronger than I thought it would be considering the peanut butter muffin experience, and I mean this in the best way possible. I did not want this one to end. With each bite I really think I might have even said out loud “this is so good” multiple times.
I will be ordering more of these in the near future.

Next up were the bagels.
Bagels are a favorite of mine. I like them thick and fluffy and again was surprised to see that these fit that description. Not as thick as say a bakery bagel, but not thin and flimsy like a bagel thin. A happy medium.
I tried the pumpkin spice and toasted it up and topped half with cream cheese and half with peanut butter.
The bagel again didn’t have a really strong pumpkin spice flavor, but I will say in terms of the bagel on it’s own, it was great, toasted well, and with peanut butter and cream cheese…well you can’t really go wrong there. I’m pretty sure I had this same breakfast at least 3 days in a row. No shame.

Now for the bread.
Let me tell you I was so excited when I saw they sent me the pumpernickel flavor. I love pumpernickel bread.
And I may sound like a broken record, but I really can’t tell that this is a lower carb bread. It has great texture.
For breakfast one day I whipped up some protein cream cheese and sprinkled some granola on it and called it good.
And it was good.
I haven’t yet, but I’m thinking about making a panini with it, I think it will toast quite well. I will report back on that one.

And just when I thought all my goodies were gone, I got such a great surprise. I had stuck the squares in my produce drawer in the fridge and I guess one got lost in the back.
Finding this lemon square hidden away was one of the best surprises ever.
I remembered how much I loved the almond square, and I love lemon bars in general, so I had high expectations for this little guy.
Again. Did not disappoint.
I may bust the bank ordering all of these squares, but I think it’s worth it. Seriously, they are that good.
