november foodie pen pal reveal

This post coming to you from true disbelief that it is already November and almost the end of the year.

Is anyone else completely blown away by how quickly this year has gone by?

I seriously can not believe it.

And really doing this Foodie Pen Pals reveal always makes me realize that another month has in fact come and gone.

Bittersweet moment I tell you.

But the sweet side of it is that it is in fact time to reveal my foodie pen pal experience.

And if you live under a rock and haven’t heard of this program yet, head over to the wonderful host’s Lindsay’s site for more information.

This month I was paired up with Joanna who blogs at Run Fast Eat Lots.
I was pretty excited because one of the first things I read about her was she is also a beer lover.
You guys know me and my beer. I love it.
After chatting with her a bit we both kind of hinted a local brew may or may not slip into our packages. I think we were both ok with that.
Here is what she sent me:

♥ ♥ ♥
I did indeed get a local brew! Also some tea, a few bars and home made cookies.
I’m not huge on tea and we all know I have bars coming out of my ears, but I did love that beer!!
♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥
Anything local that I can’t get around me is a total win! One thing Matt and I really want to do is travel and visit the local breweries, so when the local beers come to me, I’m one happy girl.
Another thing that makes me happy?

♥ ♥ ♥
Cookies! Especially when they are home made deliciousness. Which is what these were. She also gave me the recipe, but knowing the baker I am not, and my ability to follow directions, we’ll see how good my recreation will come out.  Her’s I can say however were delish.
Well loves I am off to continue to not know where time goes, I hope you all had a wonderful October and have a fabulous November!
♥ ♥ ♥
Are you already getting ready for Thanksgiving? Or dare I say Christmas?

foodie pen pal reveal

This will probably be the shortest Foodie Pen Pal Reveal I have ever done, but I literally got my package today and immediately came to type up a post, so I would have something to share!

♥ ♥ ♥

My pen pal this month was Amanda and unfortunately she had some personal issues to deal with, so we didn’t get to chat that much.

But better late than never and her package arrived, and even though the situation may have been a bit frustrating, when I saw her package all was forgotten.

♥ ♥ ♥

2

♥ ♥ ♥

How could I be even remotely upset? I thought this was such a sweet, kind thing to do!

Life happens and I completely understood, but it was nice for that to be the first thing I saw when receiving the package!

(ps Amanda, the boy went immediately for the chocolate!)

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

I managed to get the first bite though! Muahaha.

♥ ♥ ♥

3

♥ ♥ ♥

I’m not a huge plain chocolate fan, but dark chocolate hits the spot as a night time snack. Just saying.

Here is what else Amanda sent me.

♥ ♥ ♥

1

♥ ♥ ♥

PB2 and coconut oil spray (two items I had told her to keep an eye out for, thank you!) and she didn’t know this, but my absolute favorite flavor of Crofter’s Superfruit Spread.  You guys know me and my jam, so the fact that she got me my favorite flavor without even knowing, well I was a wee bit excited about that.

So Amanda, I hope all is well with you and thank you so much for my package!!

The Lean Green Bean

may foodie pen pal reveal

I say this every month.

Seriously. Where does the time go? I remember New Years and now it’s already the end of May?

You’re kidding me.

But I look at the time flying by as a good thing. It means I’m not dwelling or dreading my days right? Remember, we love the positives around here.

♥ ♥ ♥

And as we all know, or you should know, the end of the month means it’s time for my Foodie Pen Pal reveal!

I seriously love participating in this and Lindsay does an amazing job at putting it together each month, especially considering how much it has grown. You rock Lindsay!

Here is a little information about the program if you haven’t heard about it.

♥ ♥ ♥

The Lean Green Bean

♥ ♥ ♥

Now on to the good stuff.

My goodies!

My foodie pen pal this month was Jen from RealFitrition.

She told me she just recently moved to Austin, TX so I told her any local spicy Texas goodness she could find, she could send my way!

Oh don’t worry, I told her about my jam addiction too.

As I say almost every month, I always feel like I get so lucky and she delivered a wonderful package!

Here is what I got.

♥ ♥ ♥

027-1

♥ ♥ ♥

She also sent me some notes on everything she picked out which I thought was super sweet and it was nice to know some information about the products and why she choose them!

Wild Huckleberry Preserves with Chili love, I was worried it would be too spicy because I’m not a huge spicy jam lover, but to my pleasant surprise you can barely taste the chili and the huckleberry was ah-mazing

austiNUTS Texas BBQ Peanuts – bought from a local grocery store. BBQ+Peanuts = Win

Gopal’s Power Wraps: Texas BBQ – She said her son said they taste like beef jerky (but they’re vegan! yay!) I can’t wait to try these!

Good Health Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels – She said she bought these because I love pretzels and then included the Rawtella for Matt because he loves chocolate. Seriously how sweet is that??

Source of Life Energy Shake – I’m all about anything that will give me energy before or after a workout!

Wolff’s Kasha – Her daughter is gluten free so she said she cooks with this a lot, I have a few ideas already brewing on what to use this in!

♥ ♥ ♥

fpp

♥ ♥ ♥

Now it took all the will power I had to not rip open that bag of peanut butter filled pretzels right away (i at least waited about 15 minutes – they’re amazing) but if you read my #strangebutgood post, you know the Wild HuckleBerry Preserves got used that very night as well.

♥ ♥ ♥

009-1

♥ ♥ ♥

So thank you Jen for all my goodies. They have been very much enjoyed!

♥ ♥ ♥

My foodie pen pal that I sent to this month was Danelle who does not have a blog. It was also her first Foodie Pen Pals ever!

I actually love getting first timers, but it also puts a little bit of pressure on me, because I want to make sure I give them a good first impression of the program!

I think I did a good job judging on her response (unless she is just being nice to me) but she was such a doll and I loved chatting with her a bit through e-mails (we also discovered we live in the same general area! Small world!)

She was also kind enough to write up a little blurb on what I sent her:

♥ ♥ ♥

I was so happy to receiving my VERY FIRST Foodie Pen Pal box from Debbie this month and what a treat it was! She was so attentive to my email requests as I have some food allergies and dislikes.  What a surprise to find out that we both live in the same metropolitan area.  Her box arrived the day after she mailed it..speedy quick.  She shopped at a favorite store of mine as well as one I’ve never frequented before (but I certainly will now, thanks to her, for introducing me to it).

There was a variety of items in my box from Trader Joe’s (a favorite store) and Fresh and Easy (new to me *gasp*).  A favorite item in the package were the chocolate chip cookies that my family was very pleased to share with me ( the 3 teenagers in the house think Debbie is their new favorite pen pal!)…they were gone in less than 24 hours.  I had to fight off my husband to keep away from the espresso chocolate bark that was from Fresh and Easy, what a lovely treat that was.  Other items that were new to me were Plum Amazins dried plums, true to Debbie’s advice, they go GREAT on oatmeal.  I have slowly been enjoying the trail mix and cinnamon and sugar pita chips, too.  Debbie was so kind to include a card that explained her reasons for each purchase and her blog address.  I have been popping in on her frequently and am so pleased to have joined Foodie Pen Pals. Thanks again, Debbie for a GREAT experience!

Well loves, until next time!

sippin’ on zombie brain juice

Um ok. Seriously. January is over? We’ve been in 2013 for one whole month already? I just can’t believe it. Honestly. I’m in denial over here, I don’t know about you.

Time never ceases to amaze me with how quickly it goes by.

But one good thing about the end of a month is you guessed it.
Foodie Pen Pal time!

♥ ♥ ♥

The Lean Green Bean
♥ ♥ ♥
This month I was paired up with the lovely Laurel.
And I was her first foodie pen pal! Yay!
I tried to take it easy on her 😉
♥ ♥ ♥
But I am happy to report, she did amazing at picking out some goodies for me!
♥ ♥ ♥
019
♥ ♥ ♥
Whenever I am asked what I like, jam and jelly is always one of the first things out of my mouth!
I’m sorry. I’m addicted. And I literally think I squealed with the I saw the Side Hill Farm Cinnamon Pear jam.
Oh my gosh.
Talk about little kid excitement, that was me.
And Whole Foods fruit spread is a favorite of mine as well.
And good honey and maple syrup? Well you can’t go wrong there either.
Sweet tooth heaven.
♥ ♥ ♥
020-1
♥ ♥ ♥
A couple fun snacks too.
These made it straight into my backpack. Great school snacks if you ask me.
I felt like a kid again with the fruit snacks.
♥ ♥ ♥
021-1
♥ ♥ ♥
Seriously guys. Zombie Brain Juice.
Only in foodie pen pals could this ever happen.
Matt and I were pretty excited over this.
So excited I tweeted instantly about it.
♥ ♥ ♥
025
♥ ♥ ♥
Yea. I was that excited.
And that popcorn? I love popcorn.
I hate to admit it these both were gone the night I got the package.
So thank you Laurel, everything was delish!
♥ ♥ ♥
So if Zombie Brain Juice doesn’t convince you to joining Foodie Pen Pals, I don’t know what will.

I was lucky enough to be paired with the Foodie Pen Pal queen herself, miss Lindsay at LeanGreenBean. I was so nervous, but hopefully she liked everything I sent her!!
♥ ♥ ♥
Would you try Zombie Brain Juice?
What’s your favorite snack?

august foodie pen pan reveal

Ok first things first.
♥ ♥ ♥
August is over. Seriously? Where does time go. I can not believe it is already September. But with the end of the month comes that time where I get to reveal my foodie pen pal. Seriously guys, I love participating in this. Not only do you get fun new treats, but I have met some other fabulous bloggers.

♥ ♥ ♥

So what is Foodie Pen Pals about? Here is a little blurb on it.

♥ ♥ ♥

This month I got paired with Debra from Eliot’s Eats.

She sent me one of the most simple, but one of the best packages I have gotten since participating. When I say simple, I mean it in the best way possible. This lady sent me something that went straight to my foodie heart.

She had asked me some of the things I liked and my typical response is jams/jellies, nut butters and healthy snacks.

Ok, if you guys are avid readers of Accidently Delish you know I am obsessed with jam. Obsessed. So what she sent me made me beyond giddy.

Four beautiful and delicious homemade jams.

-swoon-

Seriously it may look like 4 simple jars of jams, but I have never been so excited and happy with a package.

♥ ♥ ♥

She had told me prior that she didn’t have time to write “a cute note”, but I thought her note was pretty cute!

When I received the package I quickly wrote her to let her know and to say thank you.  She sent me back a little description of what she sent.

♥ ♥ ♥

Grape Jam with Orange Essence  made with grapes from our own vines.

Jalapeno-Mango Jelly made with jalapenos from our garden.

Peach Marmalade….Some of our peach preserves were made from peaches from our two tiny peach trees.  But, we relied on orchard peaches for most of our peach jams.

Blackberry Cinnamon Jam   We don’t have blackberry bushes but we do live very close to a huge blackberry/Christmas tree farm. Easy pickins’

(Please check out her site and recipes)

♥ ♥ ♥

There is something about fresh jams/jellies that I adore. And Debra, oh my goodness, you did not disappoint. Please feel free to send more my way 😉

♥ ♥ ♥

This month I actually was paired with a non-blogger Monica.

Monica let me know she was 8 months pregnant (yay congrats) and wanted a mix of healthy and indulgent snacks. I have never shopped for a pregnant women before, so after I made sure she didn’t have dietary restrictions I had so much fun shopping for her!

♥ ♥ ♥

Here is what she had to say and some pictures she snapped.

Thanks again for the great selection of treats for my prego self:) the night I got the package I of course had to bake the brownies. Possibly eaten with a little vanilla ice cream…DELISH!!! My two kids stole the dried mangos and I never saw them again. Haha! By far my favorite item was the home mixed granola! I loved all the different mixes together. It was perfection! Also while staying a tad healthy. Thanks again Debbie!

So I think I did pretty well at giving her a healthy yet tasty mix of treats.

Here is what I included: Apple, Orange, Trader Joe’s Dried Mango Slices,  Late July Organic Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches, Trader Joe’s Brownie Mix and then a homemade mix of granola.

In the mix I included banana chips, Enjoy Life Chocolate Granola, Nature Path’s Love Crunch – Apple Crumble, and Vanilla Granola.

I also got her two jars of baby food. I know newborns don’t eat baby food right away, but I just could not resist! I was so excited for her and love babies! Gotta get the future foodie some treats too!

♥ ♥ ♥

Overall this was an incredible month, I feel like I got lucky on both ends.

So Debra thank you so much for all the delicious jams and Monica I hope you enjoyed everything and good luck with the baby!

♥ ♥ ♥

Have you joined Foodie PenPals yet? You know I think you should.

Hello Loves!

♥ ♥ ♥

Well school is back in full swing for me, so this may be short and sweet.

But I do have to take the time to do my Foodie Pen Pal Reveal!

♥ ♥ ♥

I really look forward to doing this every month. I love to grocery shop, so duh. Right up my alley.

♥ ♥ ♥

This month Anna sent me some goodies.

Can never go wrong with a jar of peanut butter right? Right.

And the Humbles turned out to be amazing. Very addicting. And my hand kept going back in the bag! Again and again and again…

I’m not a big cookie person, so Matt will more than likely take charge of those!

Thanks Anna for the goodies!

♥ ♥ ♥

I sent my package over to Kristen and loved hearing that she liked everything I sent her!  (She doesn’t have a Trader Joe’s, so guess who went a little TJ crazy. This girl)   I think that is the best part of this, is hearing from the person I send to, that they loved what I got them! I really do have a fun time shopping and try to find fun new things.

♥ ♥ ♥

Well dolls, I know this is short and sweet, but this girl has some studying to do.

Oh yes. Breakfasts and snacks have turned into this again.

Gotta love eating while studying.

Wait. No you don’t, but sometimes it just has to happen!

♥ ♥ ♥

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Mine will be full of studying.

Yay. (sarcasm)

♥ ♥ ♥

Have you tried Foodie Pen Pals yet? If not, you should!

Are you more of a cookies or chip person? Chips for the win!

april foodie pen pal reveal

Hello all my love bugs!

(I don’t know why I’m on the love bug kick. Go with it.)

♥ ♥ ♥

It’s the end of April and what does that mean? Other than this year is going by crazy fast! I’ve been in school for 6 months already, can you believe that! Oh my gosh, has it flown by!

But the end of the month also means I get to do my Foodie Pen Pals post!

The Lean Green Bean

It’s this little thing I’ve been doing for the past few months put together by the wonderful miss Lindsay at The Lean Green Bean.

Here is a little info about what it’s all about.

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

Sound like something you want to do? I highly suggest it! Not only do you receive great goodies, but I have such a fun time putting my package together.

This month, oh man did I get lucky.

The lovely Sarah at The Smart Kitchen was who was sending a package to me.

Ok. I follow this girls blog anyways, and let me tell you, I have seen some of the goodies she whips up.

I knew (or shall I say hoped) I was in store for some delicious home made goodies.

I was right. So right. And so happy.

(I had a happy fiance too)

♥ ♥ ♥

I have everything shipped to Matt’s work and sometimes it’s torture when he tells me I got a package and I have to wait until he gets home to open it.

Remember my last Foodie Pen Pal when I couldn’t even wait and opened it at his work?

Yea, I’m like a 5 year old.

But let me tell you and soon as he walked in the door I grabbed the box and ripped it open.

It was hard to take the time to photograph everything, because I wanted to dig in to so many things.

(It didn’t help it was dinner time too)

But I actually had some restraint.

♥ ♥ ♥

Here is what the lovely and very generous lady sent to me.

First the home made goodies.

Oh my gosh. Drool.

But the fun doesn’t end there.

Ok seriously? This girl speaks my language.

We all know my obsession with jam. Fig and Strawberry preserves? Yes please.

I have been dying to try the Biscoff spread. New addiction? Thanks Sarah.

Orange, Banana, Cherries, COFFEE, and tea.

Mind reader this Sarah girl is.

♥ ♥ ♥

Remember me saying I restrained from cracking right into these bad boys?

It didn’t last long.

It started with this.

Then it quickly progressed to this.

These cookies are dangerous.

And were gone.

Quickly.

(Insert 5 days later)

We obviously hated the cookies.

-tee hee-

♥ ♥ ♥

Back to the arrival day though.

Don’t worry. Peanut Butter and Jelly Granola did not get left out.

♥ ♥ ♥

Let me just say. Sarah. You’re awesome.
Everything was delicious.

Thank you!

♥ ♥ ♥

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and a wonderful May!

It’s summertime and everyone should be happy about that!

(Ps. Head over to The Dancing Runner to see what I got my Foodie Pen Pal. Chelsea is super sweet!)

♥ ♥ ♥

What the best home made goodies you have had lately?

What is your favorite thing to make from scratch?

♥ ♥ ♥

(On a side note, the winner from my Incredible Greens giveaway has not responded so I will be picking a new winner 05/02/2012 if I do not hear from her. I also didn’t get as many entries as I wanted so I am opening up this post as well to enter. If you want a chance to enter the Incredible Greens giveaway, head over to that post and leave a comment and I will count it!)

It’s the end of the month.

Can you believe March is already over? Time is seriously flying. That could be a good and bad thing though!

Well with it being the end of the month, it’s time to spotlight what I’ve been participating in for the last few months.

♥ ♥ ♥

I’ve had a great time participating in this.

♥ ♥ ♥

My foodie pen pal this month was the lovely lady Madeline at Food Fitness and Family

I have all my packages sent to Matt’s work because we just moved and have had some bad experiences with not receiving packages,  I actually had to stop by his office for something the day her package arrived. I didn’t even wait until I got home to open the package I was so excited!

I can tell you what my eyes zoomed to first. And Matt’s. And his co-workers.

peeps!

I think I literally yelled peeps! out loud.
Small things excite me. I can’t help it.

♥ ♥ ♥

Madeline sent me a slew of wonderful goodies.

I really banked on this one!

Ok where do I begin?

PB2, Wasa Crispbread (I have been  wanting to try these for so long!), Bear Naked Soft-Baked Cookies (yum), Yogi Super Antioxidant Tea, Luna Bar, Larabar, ProBar (PB&J!), Peeps!!, Gummy Bears! (Matt stole these!!) and a cute little note!!

♥ ♥ ♥

So it was dinner time and while I was preparing dinner, I couldn’t help but dig into a few of my goodies. I mean seriously. How can you not? This quickly happened.

I quickly pulled out my banana bread hummus and topped it on one of the Wasa Crispbread.

Delish.

The Crispbread was a lot harder than I thought, but I really liked the flavor. Great snacking cracker for sure, and I’m sure I will find multiple other things to dip it in! (my pumpkin butter stash perhaps???)

♥ ♥ ♥

I’ve also been on a huge tea kick, so I was super excited to try this tea. I typically tend to buy the spicy teas but I thought this would be great for before bed.

Enjoyed in my little owl mug

I love how Yogi puts inspirational quotes on their tea bags.

This tea was very good and I think it will be a part of my nightly routine!

♥ ♥ ♥

A bunch of the other goodies have been nibbled on. Matt loves the granola cookies. But who doesn’t love cookies? I mean really.

So thank you very much Madeline, I have enjoyed everything so far!!

♥ ♥ ♥

Announcement!

I have chosen the winner for my Chobani Champions giveaway!

Congratulations Linz! Please contact me at Debbie(at)AccidentlyDelish(dot)com to claim your prize!

Have a good weekend loves!
