living a 80/20 life

Happy Wednesday my lovies.

♥ ♥ ♥

My week was a little different this week, I had yesterday off as opposed to my typical Monday off, but I think I actually like having a random day in the week off. Three day weekends are great don’t get me wrong, but it’s nice to have it switched up a bit.

Having Tuesday off actually gave me a chance to get my What I Ate Wednesday post done a little bit more on time other than just recapping on what I’ve been eating lately. Although in typical Debbie fashion, I don’t have a strict day of eats to share with you, but more or less highlights.  Gotta give you guys the good stuff right?

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

I’m starting to introduce and be more comfortable with sharing my weird habits with my co-workers. I’m a pretty outgoing open person to begin with and people usually figure out pretty quickly how bizarre I am. No shame.

When a co-worker was scrapping the last bit out of her huge peanut butter jar, I quickly took advantage of the situation and asked her for her empty jar. -Insert weird look-. I don’t blame her, I mean who asks for an empty peanut butter jar?

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

People who like to make oatmeal in a jar. I know you fellow foodies understand me.

She did give me the initial odd look, but once I explained to her what I was going to do with it, she was actually intrigued by the concept.

Since this jar was huge I did my best to make voluminous overnight oats in attempt to fill it.

I’ve been out of TVP for a few weeks now, so I feel like now when I make my oats, it is such a hodge-podge of random things I throw in, for no real rhyme or reason.

This batch had about 1/3 cup rolled oats, 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1tbsp quinoa, and 1 tbsp creamy buckwheat cereal.

See? Totally random.

I just want them to grow and plump as much as possible overnight.

I also added in about 1/2 scoop of Plant Fusion Vanilla Bean protein powder and my random spices.

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

I think I did a pretty good job at filling this monster.

I topped them with the usual frozen banana and granola sprinkle.

I also find it humorous that my breakfast travels in my car arm compartment.

♥ ♥ ♥

1

♥ ♥ ♥

They may not be the prettiest, and I may have eaten them in the car, but I will tell you they were still delicious. And that’s all that matters.

♥ ♥ ♥

I also managed to make a pretty delish dinner the other night too.

Which is an accomplishment with as lazy as I have been with dinners lately.

But I can’t really take credit for this dinner.  It goes to Trader Joe’s.

♥ ♥ ♥

2

♥ ♥ ♥

I love to cook all my meals fresh trust me, but I have no shame eating pre-made meals either. And this Trader Joe’s general tso’s chicken dish is seriously amazing. I am always blown away by Trader Joe’s pre-made meals and have not had a bad one yet.

♥ ♥ ♥

I’ve also been demolishing some other new to me goodies that I feel like I have to share with you guys.

I am a sucker for trying new, random products. If it is different, intrigues me, I love to at least try it once.
Some are winners, some are losers.

This one. Is a huge winner.

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

I don’t know why, but vegan cooking and baking has really intrigued me lately. I honestly don’t know where it came from, maybe because vegan cooking can tend to be #strangebutgood if you will, so with me, the more strange it is, the more I tend to like it.

When I came across Nacheez, I knew I had to try it. It is a non-dairy style cheese that is made from blended cashews and red bell peppers. It’s 100% vegan and definitely more healthy than your typical cheese sauce. This stuff was out.of.this.world.good. I’m telling you it tastes better than any real queso I have had. I kid you not. You can not tell it is dairy free.

I’m pretty sure I demolished half a bag of pretzels and half this jar in one sitting. Again. No joke. I am totally going to make some nachos with this stuff.

♥ ♥ ♥

Speaking of demolishing things, I have been enjoying lots of sweet treats lately too.

I am a firm believer in balance. Healthy living to me is not eating a 100% clean diet. Yes, I like to eat healthy, but I also like to enjoy my life, never restrict myself, and never feel guilty about anything that I choose to eat or drink. Life does not revolve around food.  This is something I struggled with in the past, but have finally accepted.

With that being said. A lot of this has happened lately.

Loopy Pineapple birthday shots.

One thing I feel the most accomplished with in my life lately is being able to go with the flow, eating what I want when I want, and not giving it a second thought. It’s all about 80/20 people and I’ll be honest, sometimes my life is a little more 70/30, and I am perfectly ok with that.

So on that note, I leave you my loves. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week.

♥ ♥ ♥

And remember there is still one more day to enter my Extend Nutrition giveaway. Hurry for your chance to win some delicious snacks!

Do you believe in the 80/20 rule?

What are some of your favorite pre-packaged meals?

drowning my sorrows…in kabotcha

Hello all.

♥ ♥ ♥

This is going to be really short, but I did want to write one more post before I headed back to Indiana for my grandma’s funeral.  I am so happy that I am able to go back to be with my family, but also a bit torn, nervous, anxious about the whole situation.

I don’t talk much about my parents on here, well because I haven’t had the best relationship with them over the past few years.  If you have followed me for awhile you kind of know the story, if not, let’s leave it at they were not supportive at all during my recovery from my ED.  But as I get better and have progressed in my recovery, we are slowly trying to build a relationship again.  It’s a work in progress.

But with it being What I Ate Wednesday and all, I thought I would show you guys a quick peek at some of the goodies I have been eating lately.

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

Although if you know me, they will be some pretty repetitive eats.

When I got the news about my grandma, I was a bit torn. Part of me had been expecting this for some time, so I was almost kind of prepared. She had been battling cancer for over a year and when first diagnosed we were told she had about 2 months to live.  Those 2 months turned into over a year, she was defiantly a fighter and I guess just wasn’t ready yet.  This is why I truly believe this was her time and she is in a better place now.  But of course there is a huge part of me that is just so heart broken that she is actually gone.

That night I pretty much drowned my sorrows in kabotcha.

♥ ♥ ♥

012-1

♥ ♥ ♥

I know it’s not completely healthy to find comfort in food, but that night all I wanted to do was relax, have a glass of wine, and basically demolish a whole kabotcha.

So yes, this meal is boring, ugly, and repetitive, but it was what I wanted.

♥ ♥ ♥

Another maybe repetitive idea, but an amazing twist was my protein plantain bread.

Since I knew I was leaving town and still had half a plantain in the fridge, I figured I would test how the plantain bread would travel.

♥ ♥ ♥

013-1

♥ ♥ ♥

I know it’s not as pretty in tupperware, but I’m telling you, this base was one of the most delish I have made to date.

I added Click mocha protein and a bunch (and I mean way more than a normal person would or should add) of cinnamon and a splash of vanilla. Honestly, this would have been amazing plain.

♥ ♥ ♥

025

♥ ♥ ♥

But we all know me, and I don’t do plain. So a swirl of Plant Fusion chocolate protein frosting and peanut butter was added on top.

Yup, took it up a notch. And if you were wondering, the plantain bread travels well and tastes great eaten in a car out of tupperware.

♥ ♥ ♥

And one more quick thing to share.

I just wanted to prove to you all that no jar goes unused in my house.

♥ ♥ ♥

045-1

♥ ♥ ♥

We all know I am a jam addict, so when this opportunity presented itself, I knew this empty jar of pear jam had to be filled with overnight prOATs. Mixed in was frozen banana, berries and topped with healthy chocolate sauce.

Overflowing goodness is what this was.

♥ ♥ ♥

And just for good repetitive measure. The protein breakfast wraps are still going strong too.

057-1

Yup, just as messy as ever, but still just as delish.

Some things never get old.

♥ ♥ ♥

Well loves, I hope you all have a great week. I am going to try to make the best of the next few days and just embrace being with family and friends even though the circumstances are not the best.

♥ ♥ ♥

How do you cope with bad news?

Do you crave certain foods over and over? And in my case over and over and over…

razzle dazzle of a wednesday

Holy Wednesday Batman.

Seriously?

I debated even writing a post because honestly, my eats have been boooorr-ing.

But I thought I would scrap something up for What I Ate Wednesday with the lovely Jenn, because I love catching up with everyone’s eats, hoping for inspiration, getting it, but never following through.

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

Story of my life.

I did have one pretty epic meal that is worth sharing.

And I had no part in creating the wonderful-ness.

♥ ♥ ♥

044

♥ ♥ ♥

Because seriously, when it comes to PB Crave and OIAJ, my work is pretty much done.

(can you guys see the massive amount of peanut butter left in that jar? that may or may not have been done on purpose)

I did my best to dress it up though.

♥ ♥ ♥

039-1

♥ ♥ ♥

Wanna guess what’s in there? It’s a shocker I’m sure.

You guessed it.

Frozen banana, berries and a sprinkle of local granola.

I’m a wild one I know.

♥ ♥ ♥

042-1

♥ ♥ ♥

Close up goopy goodness.

But seriously, the Razzle Dazzle stole the show of this breakfast.

But really, anything with peanut butter is a win in my book.

♥ ♥ ♥

Other than that meals have been kind of boring and predictable.

I roasted some veggies.

♥ ♥ ♥

046

♥ ♥ ♥

I also like making my green veggies brown.

My motto is the crispier the better.

I’ve also eaten my weight in Arctic Zero lately.

♥ ♥ ♥

004

♥ ♥ ♥

(confession: i hated the coffee flavor the first time i ate it. then became obsessed, chocolate mint is still #1 in my book though)

School snacks have been bar-tastic lately. They just seem to do the job.

I found a new favorite.

♥ ♥ ♥

020

♥ ♥ ♥

These Good Bean bars are seriously amazing.

I do love my chickpeas though.

♥ ♥ ♥

One thing I don’t love love with all my heart.

When this little love bug stops me from studying.

♥ ♥ ♥

047

♥ ♥ ♥

I welcome the studying interruption, especially when it comes in the cutest little package ever.

Well loves, short sweet and to the point.

That’s how I roll. Have a great rest of your week.

♥ ♥ ♥

What are your obsessions lately?

What’s your favorite on the go snack?

the good and the bad

Hello Hello luffs.

♥ ♥ ♥

So let’s skip the small talk. This post is serving a double purpose.

I of course have to check in for the wonderful Jenn’s What I Ate Wednesday, but I also had a recent occurrence that really got me thinking, that I think is also worth sharing.

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

Monday was the first day (of my last class!!) and we had two surgeries scheduled right off the bat. To say the least it was a bit hectic.

To set the scene we typically all leave our bags in a separate lab during surgeries. After the second surgery was complete (class was not over, we were still recovering the patient) I left to go to the room to get a drink of my water. In entering the room I noticed my back pack was no longer on the lab table. Everyone elses seemed to be untouched, bags/purses all in the lab where others had left them. Now granted this was April Fool’s Day as well, so I did a quick sweep of the lab to see if someone had just hid my bag. No such luck. I then went back into the surgery room to question everyone if a joke was being played or if my bag was really gone.

Guess what, my bag was really gone. Turns out only one other girls purse was missing (which was soon found outside the women’s bathroom), but all the cash from her wallet was taken. My whole back pack was still missing. Immediately I thought, why mine? Why just mine? And then crap my car keys are in there.

To make a long story short, another student ended up finding my back pack outside her apartment, which was located near the school. I had also had about $100 in my back pack (it was birthday money just stored away, I know stupid of me to have that much money on me) which was taken.

♥ ♥ ♥

I bring this up because I was surprisingly calm during the whole situation. And it really showed me how I’ve grown and how I am now able to handle a stressful situation without completely freaking out. A few years ago I probably would have thought my world was over, proclaiming “why me??” “the world is so unfair” “what am I going to do???” But I was so proud of myself for taking the negative situation and finding the positives. It was only material things, some money, but nothing of true value had been taken from me. The biggest part of this was not the money gone, but the violation of the situation, how vulnerable it made me feel, and the fact that I was singled out.

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

But I am truly proud of myself for being able to be positive and instead of crying over what was going wrong, I tried to find ways I could fix the situation. (now don’t get me wrong, if I find out who did this, there will be a few words, but for now there is nothing I can do.)

♥ ♥ ♥

But now let’s get to the more fun stuff. The food stuff.

What better way to start a day after a horrible day then overnight OIAJ.

♥ ♥ ♥

025-1

♥ ♥ ♥

I truly believe oats just taste better when eaten from a jar.

This jar happened to have an insane amount of peanut butter left in it (purposely of course) and it was so so so delish.

I am seriously addicted to my TVP prOATs and this time I added the cookies and cream Plant Fusion and also a little vanilla nut butter extract.

♥ ♥ ♥

028

♥ ♥ ♥

I of course had to add my typical frozen banana and berries. I swear I can’t have oats without a frozen banana.

I actually recently got asked why it has to be frozen. I honestly just like cold things. Maybe it’s a texture thing, maybe it’s a taste thing. Maybe it’s just a thing. But I love them. I add them to the bottom and the top.

♥ ♥ ♥

Just so you get the idea of how much peanut butter and how many times I’ve had TVP/prOATs for breakfast. Here is another delicious jar I recently enjoyed.

♥ ♥ ♥

001

♥ ♥ ♥

I may or may not be consuming extra peanut butter just so I can have jars. It’s a tough life. I know.

♥ ♥ ♥

I finally caved and bought strawberries. They tempt me every time I walk into the store, but when it comes to fruit I always fight with myself because half the time I don’t consume it fast enough before it goes bad (which as I’m sure you know is pretty quickly). Matt always says he will help me and eat it, but never does (he always does this with blueberries. we go to the store. he has to have them. then he doesn’t eat them)

I’m glad I got the strawberries though.

♥ ♥ ♥

027

♥ ♥ ♥

Sometimes simplicity is the best. A simple Rudi’s Whole Wheat English muffin topped with Click protein frosting and fresh strawberries.

This was such a simple breakfast, but seriously so amazing.

♥ ♥ ♥

You know what else is amazing?

Friends. Family. Love. Support.

♥ ♥ ♥

Since I didn’t do an Easter re-cap here are a few scenes from my weekend.

It started with a pedicure date with some of the ladies from my class.

♥ ♥ ♥

012

♥ ♥ ♥

These girls keep me sane. I am so thankful to have them.

Then it was off to Matt’s parents for Easter lunch.

♥ ♥ ♥

016

♥ ♥ ♥

But not before Delilah and I got our coffee fix.

Then it was a battle for the Easter candy.

♥ ♥ ♥

019

♥ ♥ ♥

I won.

My prizes.

♥ ♥ ♥

018

♥ ♥ ♥

I think moments like these make me able to overcome the moments mentioned previously.

Yes we have bad and unfortunate events in our lives, but I truly believe the good moments over come them and create that balance.

There will always be good and bad, but let’s cherish the good and not dwell on the bad.

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week, I’m not letting this bump in my road get me down.

♥ ♥ ♥

How do you deal with bumps in your road?

granola and figs and chocolate oh my!

Loves do I have some tasty-ness for you today!

Shall I dare to share marvelous tasty-ness?

I think I shall. And thanks to the beautiful Katie, I have the opportunity to share all this greatness with you.

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

As you know I love to share what I am eating, what products I am using and what companies I am loving.

I mean really, where would we be without companies making fabulous products for us to make our delicious dishes with?

So I always love to give credit when credit is due.

♥ ♥ ♥

I have been making some absolutely amazing TVP prOAT bowls lately. I was initially just so glad I got back on the oatmeal wagon after taking a long hiatus from it.

I started with warm bowls.

♥ ♥ ♥

028-1

♥ ♥ ♥

Topped with frozen banana (obsessed), blueberries and cereal dust.

Then I brought back my dessert for breakfast bowls with a Chocolate Covered Strawberry bowl.

♥ ♥ ♥

035-2

♥ ♥ ♥

Ok seriously. I didn’t think it could get any better. But chocolate covered strawberries prOATs is pretty epic.

♥ ♥ ♥

Then I had the wonderful opportunity to do OIAJ.

Oh man did I miss these too.

♥ ♥ ♥

019

♥ ♥ ♥

(Props to Wild Friends for making this OIAJ extra special. Seriously. Chocolate Sunflower Seed Butter makes anything 3928742834 times better)

Then I finally remembered how much I loved my overnight oats. How could I have forgotten about them?

♥ ♥ ♥

030

♥ ♥ ♥

1. I seriously forgot how much chia seeds make a bowl grow. Love.

2. A few things made this bowl extra special.

♥ ♥ ♥

059

♥ ♥ ♥

Navitas acai powder.

There are so many benefits to acai that when I saw there was acai powder, I knew it would be perfect for me. So easy to throw into dishes.

The second special addition.

Love Grown Granola.

I swear they put crack in their granola.

But the show stopper?

Melzy Creations dark chocolate covered figs.

You heard me.

♥ ♥ ♥

034

♥ ♥ ♥

And not only do they making dark chocolate covered figs, but they make bars that are out.of.this.world.

♥ ♥ ♥

035

♥ ♥ ♥

Seriously look at that peanut butter goodness.

I have had a fair share of bars in my life, but seriously, these make it very high on my list.

And if peanut butter and dark chocolate wasn’t good enough.

♥ ♥ ♥

030

♥ ♥ ♥

More dark chocolate fig goodness.

This bar was beyond words. I know it’s just a bar, but it was that good.

I highly highly recommend you find these in a store near you.

You won’t regret it.

♥ ♥ ♥

Well loves, I hope I shared enough goodness with you today. I hope you all have a marvelous week.

♥ ♥ ♥

How do you prefer your oats? warm? cold? in a jar?

distractions

This post almost didn’t happen.

Not because I don’t have anything to say, but because time seriously got away from me. Which is kind of weird, because I have seriously been such a slacker lately and I’m really hoping it won’t end up biting me in the butt in the end. I typically am so good about coming home from school, studying until Matt get’s home and then just read a little extra at the end of the night.

♥ ♥ ♥

Monday I made a random Trader Joe’s trip, but it was because one of my bosses is leaving and she doesn’t have a Trader Joe’s by her and I know of some products she really likes, so I put together a little thank you/good luck/I’ll miss you package. So I guess that’s a legit excuse right?

Is it still legit when a few extra things may or may not have made it in my cart?

♥ ♥ ♥

Trader Joes

♥ ♥ ♥

And by a few, I mean quite a few.

I had to make the best of the trip right? Right.

♥ ♥ ♥

Then Tuesday I made a pedicure date with a friend right after class, then ended up going to Matt’s work to pick up a few packages that were delivered. So again, studying was put on the back burner.

But seriously, “air mail” from a beautiful fellow blogger is another totally legit reason for breaking the studying schedule.

♥ ♥ ♥

008

♥ ♥ ♥

I need to get back in the groove though!

But let’s move on to the reason we’re here today. Since time flew by that makes it time for What I Ate Wednesday.

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

And as per usual make sure you head over to Jenn’s and check out all the delicious eats. And don’t be dumb like me and look at everyone’s eats pre-breakfast. It’s not smart I tell you.

♥ ♥ ♥

Speaking of breakfast, I had a pretty tasty one recently.

It started off adding almost every spice and extract I had to my pot of oatmeal.

♥ ♥ ♥

012

♥ ♥ ♥

As we learned with my latest dessert hummus creation, my baking style is add-taste-add-taste-add-taste.

Until I am happy with the final product.

My oatmeal is no different.

I can almost guarantee probably 2 other things were added to the pot while these were cooking.

But the end product was pretty delish.

♥ ♥ ♥

028-1

♥ ♥ ♥

And if added countless ingredients to the pot while cooking isn’t enough, it didn’t end there.

Then it turns into what can’t I add on top.

♥ ♥ ♥

035

♥ ♥ ♥

I almost always have to have a frozen banana in my oats, the blueberries were starting to be on the brink of death, so they had to be used. Love Grown granola adds an amazing crunch that I love in my oatmeal so that was a must, and after seeing Sarah post 923842837432 pictures of cereal dust, I made my own and added that. Because seriously, Mom’s Best Honey Grahams are ah-mazing.

♥ ♥ ♥

Wanna know a secret?

After I made this bowl. Took my pictures. I remembered I had an empty peanut butter jar.

I couldn’t resist.

♥ ♥ ♥

037

♥ ♥ ♥

That beautiful bowl turned into this mess. Not that it really matters after the fact, and the added peanut butter was totally worth it. It always is.

And everything is better out of a jar.

♥ ♥ ♥

So that was my breakfast adventure, and I would love to share more adventures with you, but I am going to attempt to be productive and study.

I can almost guarantee you, it’s not going to happen.

Have a wonderful week loves!

♥ ♥ ♥

Do you typically stay on schedule? Or play your days by ear?

accomplishments and treats

Hello loves

♥ ♥ ♥

I can’t decide if it being Wednesday has come quickly, or if the week is going by slow.

My week has already been so jam packed I’m happy the week is halfway through, but I also feel like Friday can’t come soon enough.

For starters this week at school has been intense.

I am in Microbiology and we are starting to learn all the bacteria.

Do you know how many bacteria there are? A lot. And it’s almost impossible to learn them all.

♥ ♥ ♥

011-1

♥ ♥ ♥

I sure am trying though.

I also have had an intense week in terms of my recovery.

Guys, I think I am finally making the weight gain plunge and have developed the mind set of “just do it” because honestly, that’s the what I have to do.

For anyone who has recovered from an eating disorder this is one of the hardest things to accept. You know what you need to do (gain weight),  you know you need to do it, yet it’s just so dang hard to do. Which is weird.

But let’s take a break from all the heaviness and take some time for fun, positive things.

♥ ♥ ♥

Things like What I Ate Wednesday.

As per usual, make sure you head over to Jenn’s and check out what everyone else is eating as well.
We all know it’s usually more exciting than mine.
But while you’re here…
♥ ♥ ♥
I did manage to snap a few pictures of a few interesting eats, so let’s get to that.
Remember this snap shot I showed you recently?
♥ ♥ ♥
041-1
♥ ♥ ♥
I had big plans for this guy. Big plans indeed.
Ironically the day I had planned to have my wonderful OIAJ, the inspirational Sarah posted an Instagram picture of her “chocolate cake” oats that were in the making.
Monkey see, monkey do.
♥ ♥ ♥
004
♥ ♥ ♥
I literally copied her Instagram photo and posted my own.
Imitation is highest form of flattery right?
♥ ♥ ♥
I made my oatmeal/TVP chocolate cake prOATS (thanks to Plant Fusion chocolate, NuNaturals vanilla Stevia and a little vanilla and nut butter flavoring) and added them to my beautiful Wild Squirrel chocolate sunflower seed butter jar that was waiting for me.
♥ ♥ ♥
019
♥ ♥ ♥
He did not disappoint.
I don’t make oatmeal enough.
♥ ♥ ♥
So with a delicious, satisfying breakfast accomplished, it was on to the stressful school situation.
But I got a little help in that department too.
I have wonderful classmates who make it just a bit more enjoyable.
♥ ♥ ♥
004
♥ ♥ ♥
Ok, I know I have been eating a lot of cupcakes lately, and I almost passed this one up. But so glad I didn’t.
This seemingly simple chocolate cupcake was topped with the most amazing fresh raspberry frosting. It literally was amazing raspberry goodness in my mouth.
And every bite was delicious. (and guilt-free, win!)
So with that being said let me take a moment to acknowledge my new found success in the weight gaining department.
(Feel free to skip this part if you’re not interested in my eating disorder conversation. You won’t hurt my feelings. It’s not for everyone.)
♥ ♥ ♥
For the past 6 months, I have been going up and down in the weight gain department. I would have a few weeks of really good progress and then I would just stall again. I know I need to gain weight. I want to gain weight. But when I actually pushed myself, made myself uncomfortable, I always questioned it with “will I be able to stop”. Well, I didn’t question it, my ED was just trying to scare me and stop me. And sometimes he won.
But great conversations with Matt, his help to push me to eat even when I wasn’t hungry and to eat foods that scared me, made me realize I need to do this. For me. For my health.
So our new motto was I was not gaining weight, I was getting healthy.
Amazing what changing that perspective can do for motivation and acceptance.
So I’ve accepted that I need to get healthy. And I think finally I am mentally able to accept that.
(with the help of my amazing fiance, nutritionist and therapist as great support)
♥ ♥ ♥
Ok back to fun stuff.
Other meals sadly have been low key due to the craziness of school (however come back soon for the amazing crock pot recipe I have cooking as we speak!) but I have managed to sneak in a few tasty snacks.
First to celebrate Matt and I finally cracked open this bad boy.
♥ ♥ ♥
002
♥ ♥ ♥
We have had this brand in the Maple Bacon, which to me was a bit too maple and a bit too bacon. But if this one was going to be over powering on flavors I figured you couldn’t go wrong with chocolate, peanut butter or banana.
Surprisingly enough, this beer was an amazing blend and balance.
It tasted like a great deep brown ale, with just a hint of all the other flavors. Matt and I both loved it.
♥ ♥ ♥
Another new to me drink that gets me through class is Zevia.
Well Zevia isn’t new to me, that is a long time obsession, but the Grape flavor was new to me.
♥ ♥ ♥
007
♥ ♥ ♥
Tall boy to get me through class. You know it.
Black Cherry will always hold the top spot in my heart, but I was pretty impressed with the Grape.
♥ ♥ ♥
I also took the time cheer up my night time “dessert”.
Greek yogurt mixed with CytoSport Chocolate Casein with PB Thins as my little dunk-a-roos and then of course sprinkles to make it cute.
Because I love sprinkles. And they make everything better.
Right Sarah?
♥ ♥ ♥
010
♥ ♥ ♥
Yum yum and yum.
I don’t know about you guys, but I almost always have to end my night with something sweet.
This hit the spot.
♥ ♥ ♥
Well dears, I need to get back to that stack of note cards, those bacteria are going to be the death of me.
No really anthrax can kill ya.
Ok lame joke, I know. I’m outta here.
♥ ♥ ♥
Have you had any accomplishment lately?
What your favorite bacteria?  Yersina pestic anyone? Bubonic plague? Bueller? Bueller?

making boring sweet

Hello loves.

♥ ♥ ♥

I know I have been pretty MIA lately, but honestly it is because life has been pretty boring.

I do have some fun stuff to talk about in the near future, so I can promise you that.

♥ ♥ ♥

So I thought I would make a little appearance for What I Ate Wednesday, because maybe my meals aren’t completely exciting, but I have had a few tasty treats lately.

And as per usual head over to the lovely Jenn’s because her eats and others may be a bit more exciting than mine.

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

I do apologize for the lack of creativity, but eating on a tight budget has  made my meals turn into quite simple ones.

My breakfast’s have been pretty repetitive, although I did whip up a very tasty spin on a recent obsession of mine.

This may look like a pretty typical P28 bagel breakfast topped with my obsession whipped cottage cheese, but I assure you this was a little bit special.

♥ ♥ ♥

007

♥ ♥ ♥

No, it’s not the pretty fruit that makes it special, it is the extra ingredients in the whipped cottage cheese.

This is a mint chocolate protein whipped cottage cheese.

I added Fitmixer chocolate protein and added a few drops of NuNaturals liquid peppermint.

Oh.my.gosh.

It was tasty.

♥ ♥ ♥

014

♥ ♥ ♥

Bagels can be kind of boring, but not when topped with this goodness.

I’m almost considering having it again tomorrow.

Although this happened recently, so I’m pretty tempted to do an OIAJ.

I mean. Seriously.

Not only are empty nut butter jars something to celebrate, but if you all have not been blessed to have tried Wild Squirrel nut butters you are really missing out.

So yes not many exciting meals, but thankfully I have class mates to make my eats a little more sweet.

Lemon cupcakes = super sweetness.

With a side of microbiology.

This made class worth it.

I am also thankful for amazing #foodtwins who come to my boring food crisis.

Care packages like this make my meals and eats a little more exciting.

What you don’t get squash in the mail?

Totally normal in my world.

Thank you to the beautiful Heather who literally is spicing up my meals.

Oh and if my breakfast’s weren’t sweet enough I now have a little help in that department too.

Ok confession. This isn’t just helping me in the breakfast department.

I’m dipping and spreading this stuff at basically every time of the day.

But really. Be jealous. Because I have the best foodie friends ever.

The best.

Sarah knows my obsession with her #nuttybutter so what better way to cheer a girl up.

And if that’s not amazing enough, I also recently won a giveaway for PeanutButterCo. peanut butter.

They are so amazing there, they not only sent me the three jars I won, but also extra goodies for me to try.

Ok seriously strawberry marshmallow fluff? I didn’t even know this stuff existed.

And if you guys know anything about me, it’s my jam/jelly obsession.

I’m sure you can imagine my excitement over these.

No really. I can’t even describe.

So a special shout out to Lindsay at PeanutButterCo. and Brittany at BarrandTable who hosted the giveaway.

Both of you made me one very happy girl!

So loves I hope you all are having a wonderful week.

And I hope you all have a very love filled Valentine’s Day tomorrow!

Matt and I actually decided to go out even though money is tight, but we figured we both needed it.

Not sure what exactly we are doing, but I know a tasty dinner will be had.
