drink Click

Hi friends.

I know it’s been awhile, but my life lately always seems to be go go go.

I really feel like I barely get the chance to sit down and just relax, but honestly, sometimes I don’t know that I would want a lot of spare time. I know sometimes I complain about always being busy, but if I wasn’t busy I honestly don’t know what I would do with myself. I think I would go stir crazy. So my crazy on the go life… well I almost think I prefer it that way.

With that being said. When it comes to needing energy, quick on the go meals, and simplicity; I need to rely on reliable go to’s.

One of those has easily become Click protein.

I seriously have a morning routine.

I have my Shakeology prepped the night before and ready for me to grab for breakfast while at work. I love this because I will drink it over an hour while prepping for my morning at work.

And even though my mornings are crazy, I’m running around like a mad women trying to get everything packed and ready for the day, I always seem to find time to have fun with Matt and take morning selfies.

♥ ♥ ♥

It’s become a thing. This might be why I married this man, because he never complains, will stop what he’s doing, and selfie with me.

I love him.

But another thing I have become reliant on is Click protein. If you’re a coffee fan like I am, and enjoy using protein powders you will LOVE this stuff. I do.

Click is packed with lasting protein, a double-shot of real espresso coffee and 23 vitamins and minerals. Click is a coffee lover’s perfect protein drink that provides the decadent taste and energy you crave along with the nutrition your body needs making it easier for you to stick to your plan and achieve your health, fitness and weight-loss goals.

Here is how:

  1. The Right Protein– for weight control, you need a protein source that keeps you full for hours. Many protein shakes are actually too high in protein, fat, and calories to support weight loss effectively. A stable calorie releasing protein like the high-grade protein found in CLICK® takes longer to digest, helping you feel full for hours and helps to curb hunger cravings.  Unlike most protein powders, CLICK® can be made cold or blended as well as hot!
  2. Double-Shot of Real Gourmet Espresso Coffee – Most coffee protein powders use added, inexpensive caffeine additives or coffee flavors with little caffeine. CLICK® contains premium-grade espresso coffee to give that true rich gourmet flavor and healthy energy.  Plus, coffee is a natural thermogenic which helps to enhance fat burning, masks fatigue and speeds up recovery in exercise-up to 66% over a carb drink.
  3. Essential Nutrition – CLICK® is not just a simple protein supplement.  Many protein shakes and drinks lack the essential vitamins and minerals to ensure that the body is getting overall nutrition while slimming down.  With 1/3 of your daily nutrients in every serving, CLICK can be enjoyed as an
  • All-In-One Breakfast, Meal Replacement
  • Appetite-Curbing, Guilt-Free, Mid-Day Snack
  • Pre or Post Workout Drink

It’s sometime to be excited about.

I am.

How I tend to regularly use Click is in my morning coffee. I brew a french press pot, pour a cup into my ninja blender and add a scoop of Click protein and blend.

It’s a delicious frothy cup of coffee with an added boost of protein.

Click also offers their own suggestions for how to use their protein hot or cold.

This is perfect for me because I work out first thing in the morning, so it’s kind of like my post work out AND my morning coffee.

dinner made easy with al fresco chicken sausage

♥ ♥ ♥

I love to cook don’t get me wrong.  But I am not going to lie. I have been WAY too busy lately to have the time to make myself gourmet, made from scratch meals. You guys know this. And I am sure a lot of you can relate.

Sometimes you just have to rely on pre-made items to help you when your in a time crunch.

I do my best to food prep on the week: pre-chop my veggies, cook up a grain, whatever I can to make dinner time preparation go by quicker. But when it comes to proteins, well those can be time consuming.

There are the times when pre-cooked meats are an awesome convenience, but if I am going to use these, I want to make sure they are the best quality. That is why when al fresco asked me to review some of their products, I didn’t hesitate to say yes. The fact that these products are all natural and made from quality ingredients, I knew that these would be a great addition to a meal.

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

Honestly, I didn’t even know Chicken Bacon existed.

♥ ♥ ♥

IMG_3013

♥ ♥ ♥

I typically stay away from pork bacon, so I was very excited to try this out.

I was also excited about the Sweet & Smokey BBQ flavor for the Chicken Sausage.

♥ ♥ ♥

IMG_3014

♥ ♥ ♥

I was trying to think of what might be a good pairing, and remembered that a client had given me a jar of authentic pasta sauce from Italy. I know authentic sauces don’t typically have too many seasonings in them, so I thought the smokiness of the sausage would be a good compliment.

♥ ♥ ♥

IMG_3015

♥ ♥ ♥

It’s way to hot to be grilling outside here in Phoenix, so we decided to use our indoor grill to heat up the sausages.

♥ ♥ ♥

IMG_3016

♥ ♥ ♥

Still got the perfect grill marks!

I mixed everything together and a delicious dinner was put together in no time.

♥ ♥ ♥

IMG_3019

♥ ♥ ♥

I was right in that the sausage added just the right amount of flavor to the pasta.

And this meal couldn’t have been more simple to make.

All you need is your favorite pasta, a jar of your favorite pasta sauce and al fresco pre-cooked sausage.

The great thing is there are many different flavors of sausage to choose from. So whatever mood you’re in, there a flavor.

I am not going to lie, I am not usually a huge sausage fan of any variety, but I truly really enjoyed these sausages. I am very eager to try the other flavors and varieties!

What are you favorite pre-cooked items to use when you’re short on time?

Do you have a favorite recipe using sausage? Please share!

drinks, drinks and wild foods

Hello friends!

I hope everyone’s week is going fabulous.

Mine has been busy busy busy.

But you know I love to check in to let you know what I have been up too and also to check in with all you lovlies.

So tell me, how have all of you been? Any exciting news?

We’ve been running around like chickens with our heads cut off, both of us busy with our side business’s and others fun life stuff, but somehow we always find time to have a little fun.

We recently checked out a new to us Thai restaurant that had high recommendations.

Red Thai is located in a little strip mall and from the outside may not look like anything special, but it was really neat inside.  Think NY Thai restaurant, more modern. They had a really nice bar set up that lined the whole inside of the restaurant and also had anime playing on big screen TVs. There was also a DJ mixing live music, so that was also a fun twist.  Overall it just had a really cool vibe and atmosphere.

Matt and I were meeting some company so while we waited we ordered a drink.

♥ ♥ ♥

2

♥ ♥ ♥

I ordered the Pinku No Hana, which seriously tasted of flowers. It was made with sake, jasmine infused vodka, and ruby red grapefruit juice. It was such a refreshing drink.

When it came time to order, I just had no idea what I wanted. It was one of those everything sounded good moments. However, right before I ordered I had seen this salad be served to another table, asked the waiter what it was, and decided to order it. It was a papaya mint salad with fried tofu and topped with crushed peanuts.

♥ ♥ ♥

3

♥ ♥ ♥

Now. This was a good salad, however, when it comes to Thai food, I should have went with my gut and ordered a meat and rice dish like I typically do. The salad just left something to be desired. However, Matt ordered the yellow curry which was PHENOMENAL and he so graciously let me eat some of his. It just means we’ll have to go back so I can try something else. Darn.

The next day Matt and I had some errands to run and since it was a beautiful day out we decided to stop by True Foods to have a cocktail.

I typically order the cucumber margarita, but just wasn’t feeling it that day, so I asked the bartender to just make me his favorite cocktail.

He chose the Thai Basil Martini.

Little did he know what I just had the previous night.

But to his credit, this martini was so delicious! Again, so fresh. I definitely think this will be my new go to drink there. Matt ordered the Cherry Bourbon Sour which was very tasty as well.

Cheers!

Sometimes it’s the random things that make me giggle.

Like eating sushi in my car when I’m out getting lunch because I am just too hungry to wait until I got back to the clinic.

Oh! And before I go, I just have to share with you guys.

Have you heard of Wild Foods?

They offer a variety of products, but their main focus is on teas and coffees.

They offer around 19 flavors of tea, which is just amazing! I mean, how could you choose?

Well a really cool thing is you can build your own subscription box, so you can pick and choose what flavors you want. Pretty cool huh?

If you know me I am pretty obsessed with coffee so I knew I wanted to try some of their coffee and they also offer a cold brew, which I love!

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

Not sure how to brew tea? Coffee? Cold Brew? They got you covered with their How To page with detailed guides and instructions on how to brew your drink of choice.

It also provides great information on using whey protein, healthy fats, uses for coconut oil.

As good as the coffee smelled and looked, what stole my heart right from the start…

When does it become a problem when you selfie with protein?

But I seriously love my protein powders, especially pea, I may be a bit obsessed. But I am also a bit obsessed with simple protein frosting and pea seems to work the best for that.

I also love when protein powders taste great simply mixed with almond milk. Everlast Nutrition vanilla pea protein definitely fits that requirement.

You know what this protein frosting goes great on?

My simple plantain donuts.

What is your favorite type of protein?

tigernuts; an ancient superfood

The more weird a food looks or sounds, the more I want to try it.

I swear I am one of those people who walk around the grocery store produce aisles or the local farmers market and if I see a fruit of vegetable that I have never heard of, I want to try it. I am truly one of those I will try anything once people.

I think this is a great thing, I have discovered so many amazing foods this way.

So of course when I saw these little things called Tigernuts, I had to find out more.

♥ ♥ ♥

5

♥ ♥ ♥

So what are tigernuts?

Tigernuts are not even nuts, they’re considered a vegetable! They are great for people who have nut allergies and are looking for a nut free and gluten free option. They are an ancient superfood that originated in Northern Africa and have a great nutritional value.  According to the African Journal of Food, Agriculture, Nutrition and Development “tigernuts have long been recognized for their health benefits as they have a high content of soluble glucose and oleic acid, along with high energy content (starch, fats, sugars and proteins), they are rich in minerals such as phosphorous and potassium, calcium, magnesium and iron necessary for bones, tissue repair, muscles, the blood stream and for body growth and development and rich in vitamins E and C”.   There are so many more health benefits to these small little vegetables, check out this great post by The Organic Dietician to learn more!

So what do they taste like? I thought they tasted like a raw almond with a little bit of sweetness and the creaminess of a cashew with a bit of a chew to them.

♥ ♥ ♥

7

♥ ♥ ♥

I have been snacking on the tigernuts plain and straight from the bag, but baking with the flour was incredibly fun and interesting. I didn’t even know where to begin!

But don’t worry I have an amazing recipe that I will be sharing with you soon.

It may or may not be something that starts with a D and ends in an onut.

♥ ♥ ♥

Have you ever heard of tigernuts?

a sale for you

We all love a good sale.

I know I do. There are so many products that I would have on hand 24/7, but price does sometimes matter. That’s why I love to stock up when there are good deals going on and this is one I’m happy to tell you about!

We all need healthy snacks to have on hand and bars are quick and convenient.

But there are tons of bars on the market, so it’s important to make sure you get the most bang for your buck.

That’s why I love Extend Nutrition products.

These bars are great because they serve multiple populations of needs and goals.

They can help with sports fitness goals, weight loss goals and are great for people with diabetes.  Their products can help control blood sugar up to 9 hours.

They also happened to come out with two new delicious flavors.

Cookies & Cream and Chocolate & Caramel.

♥ ♥ ♥

2

♥ ♥ ♥

These are their anytime bars which are great for…well anytime!

I’m pretty obsessed with anything cookies & cream so I knew that was the first flavor I had to try.

♥ ♥ ♥

3

♥ ♥ ♥

Anything with chocolate chunks in it wins me over. They were pretty tasty.

Next the chocolate & caramel.

♥ ♥ ♥

4

♥ ♥ ♥

If you like ooey gooey caramel, you will love this.

And the good news? These bars and other Extend Nutrition products are  on sale at your local Walgreens.

Sales include:

Bars: $1.50 off per 4 bar box

RocksBox1

♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

7

♥ ♥ ♥

Clearly I do. Rocking the necklace I received.

When I received my first shipment,  I was very excited to see what they had put together for me.

I love jewelry and accessories, but I don’t buy a lot of them just because with the type of job I have, I don’t have much opportunity to wear it, so sometimes it seems like a bit of a waste of money.  This is one reason why this program really intrigued me because I got to wear the jewelry, but not have the obligation of actually buying it and keeping it watching it collect dust in my jewelry box.

When I opened the mail envelope I was first very impressed with the actual packaging the jewelry came in.

♥ ♥ ♥

1

♥ ♥ ♥

Simple yet classy.

Upon opening the box I got a nice giggle over the note they included.

♥ ♥ ♥

2

♥ ♥ ♥

I’m a sucker for the small things.

And under the adorable tissue paper were three individually wrapped pieces of jewelry.

♥ ♥ ♥

3

♥ ♥ ♥

In my first set I received a necklace, bracelet and pair of earrings.

♥ ♥ ♥

4

♥ ♥ ♥

I thought all three pieces were very cute, maybe not something I would buy on my own, but that is one thing with me and fashion, sometimes I just really don’t know what looks good or don’t have the courage to wear certain things.

It was actually Matt and I’s one month anniversary (hey we’re still newlyweds, we’re allowed to celebrate being married one month!) and we had made dinner plans, so I thought this was a great opportunity to wear my new accessories.

I don’t know the fashion rules, but I wore all three.

♥ ♥ ♥

6

♥ ♥ ♥

I almost never wear bracelets, but I really loved this one and I tend to stick to simple stud earrings, but again these were a nice change and I actually really liked wearing more jewelry than normal.

♥ ♥ ♥

5

♥ ♥ ♥

So far I am really enjoying this program and even though I don’t think I will purchase anything from this set, I am excited to get new pieces and try new styles. Who knows, I may get some fashion sense yet!

So if you’re interested in trying out RocksBox they were also kind enough to give me a coupon code for a one free month membership for all Accidently Delish readers! How awesome is that! Sign up using the code darobertsxoxo, take the style quiz and start accessorizing!

♥ ♥ ♥

What is your favorite accessory?

Would you ever try a program like Rocksbox?

no cow bars & other foodie finds

Hey loves, long time no talk huh?

I think it can go without saying that my life has been a bit crazy lately.

Two months today until my wedding!

I can’t believe it!

I feel like I am uneasily calm about the whole thing, but I’m pretty sure we have all things on track.

-fingers crossed-

♥ ♥ ♥

Even though things have been insanely busy ( and a bit boring ) I do have a few fun things to share with you.

Including some fun foodie finds!

I use to have such a bar obsession, then I think I realized I was eating some pretty crappy bars and just stopped altogether, but now with my crazy mornings at work, I rely once again on bars for a quick little snack and boost. But I didn’t want to go back to crappy bars again.

That led me to doing some research and trying to find higher quality bars made with real natural ingredients.
I stumbled upon D’s NaturalsNo Cow Bars.

♥ ♥ ♥

6

♥ ♥ ♥

Did I mention I’m a sucker for good packaging? I love when companies but effort into not just shoving their products in any ole box.

Upon opening the pretty little box I was welcomed with some delicious looking bars.

♥ ♥ ♥

1

♥ ♥ ♥

So as mentioned I was looking for a non-junk bar. And I think these fit the bill.

They have no artificial ingredients, are dairy, soy and gluten free and have no added sugar.

Sounds pretty good to me!

♥ ♥ ♥

2

♥ ♥ ♥

These bars have a soft texture which I love and were pretty tasty. I thought like my beloved Quest Bars these might be good warmed up, but I am sad to report, not so much. But as I mentioned these bars are pretty soft as is, so they really don’t need it.

Other random fun foodie finds?

♥ ♥ ♥

IMG_3693

♥ ♥ ♥

Health-Ade Kombucha.

I found this at my Whole Foods, it’s a bubbly kombucha with really neat flavors. I decided to try the Pink Lady Apple first and it was really tasty. Love me some bubbles!

What I love is this company still only uses the three simple ingredients of brewing: tea, sugar and water. It’s organic and made in small batches and they only brew certain flavors when the ingredients are in season. How cool is that?

I’m excited to try more flavors of these!

Another new to me item that I finally tried..

♥ ♥ ♥

IMG_3703

♥ ♥ ♥

The beet hummus from Trader Joes.

Another item I had been seeing all over Instagram and finally caved in and bought.  It is really good, I would say you definitely need to like beets (which I do), but it’s a nice switch up in flavors.

I have found that I have been relying on pre-packaged items and eating out a lot lately. By time I am done with work, I just have no desire to cook. So a few dinners out may have been happening as well.

But foods out are more interesting anyways right?

♥ ♥ ♥

3

♥ ♥ ♥

Because when a co-worker asks me out for happy hour, how can I say no to wine and pizza?

I mean just look at that cheese.

Then I had pizza again, just in a slightly different form.

♥ ♥ ♥

4

♥ ♥ ♥

Mini english muffin pizza’s! These tasted just as good as they look.

And another new to me fad that I’m sure isn’t new to most of you…

You know when you see a bunch of people do something on Instagram? And you think, that just can’t be as good as they claim.

Well. Sometimes it is.

So let’s make it clear I am a huge lover of avocado. I eat it by the spoonful. I had been seeing people post on Instagram how they sprinkle it with salt. I just couldn’t imagine it making that big of a difference.

Well loves, it does.

♥ ♥ ♥

5

♥ ♥ ♥

I smashed half an avocado on a Rudi’s Organic Spelt English Muffin and decided to sprinkle a little salt on it.

Total game changer. And I now don’t think I will be able to go back.

So thank you Instagram. Thank you.

Well loves, I know it was a short update and I hope to be back soon with more goodies for you.
